When the snow arrives we shift gears into our Explore! Winter Adventures - Snowmobile tours that feature fun and extraordinary scenery in the Plumas National Forest!
We’ll meet you at Chalet View Lodge near Portola, where we’ll prepare you for an adventure you’ll never forget!

After some instruction from our friendly guides, you will be put on late model Ski-doo snowmobiles, ready to experience what the term “throttle therapy” is all about! In an instant, you’ll go from the luxury of Starbucks (yes, even here!) to the natural beauty of untouched wilderness, covered in a blanket of snow.
Who knows where we’ll go today, maybe to the top of Smith Peak, with a breathtaking 360 degree view, or down one of the many trails that offer excitement and beauty at every turn.

Wherever it is, you’re sure to be treated to a first class adventure, leaving only with the desire to come back and do it again!
Our rates also include helmets, goggles, instruction, insurance and safety training. Boots, gloves, coats and snow pants are available for a $15 rental fee. Tours last approximately 2 hours plus instruction time.

We have over a dozen snowmobiles available, six of which can be set up for a driver and passenger. We schedule two tours a day at 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. All participants please meet at Starbucks in the Lodge 10 minutes before tour time.
